She champions the integration of arts and sciences, science communication, and women in STEM, serving on the National Academy of Sciences’ “Science and Entertainment Exchange” Program and the AAAS Committee on Science and Technology Engagement with the Public. With a background in clinical neuropsychology, Berlin is also an associate clinical professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Oxford and an MPH from Harvard University.

Future Ready: The Leadership Imperative for Facilities Managers

In an era of escalating risks, cascading consequences, and transformed ways of working, it is more imperative than ever for facilities managers to think and act as leaders. In this engaging session, Eric McNulty will explore how leading down, up, across, and beyond can help organizations be better prepared, safer, adaptive, and more productive places to work. He will provide examples from his research and from the field. You’ll leave inspired, and with pragmatic take-aways to put to work in your facilities.

Mr. McNulty, the Associate Director for the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative, oversees research, writing, and teaching focused on leadership in high-stakes situations. In addition to being an Instructor at the Harvard School of Public Health, he works with the Program for Health Care Negotiation and Conflict Resolution at the Harvard Chan School, teaching negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership. McNulty is a principal author of NPLI’s case studies on leadership decision-making in crises like the Boston Marathon bombing, Hurricane Sandy response, and the Deepwater Horizon incident. Co-author of "You're It: Crisis, Change, and How to Lead When it Matters Most" and "Renegotiating Health Care," he has also authored an e-book and numerous academic articles. With over 200 published articles, he contributes to Strategy + Business and Harvard Business Review, and his cases are used in business education globally. McNulty co-founded Harvard Business Publishing’s conference business, producing thought leadership events worldwide, and remains a sought-after speaker and moderator at business events.
